Xero Unveils Single Client Record to Streamline Workflows and Improve Efficiency

Xero, the innovative online accounting software platform, is set to launch a Single Client Record (SCR), a first-of-its-kind feature aimed at simplifying workflows and enhancing efficiency for its users in Australia and New Zealand. The forthcoming launch of the SCR features prominently on Xero's blog, where it is touted as a revolutionary step in transforming the way accountants and their teams work...

Designed for seamless compatibility with Xero Practice Manager (XPM), Xero HQ, and Xero Tax, the SCR aims to align all practice tools under a unified, accessible banner. The SCR, essentially a database wherein client data from Xero's various systems is consolidated, will eliminate the need for switching tools, duplications, or double handling; clients' information will be maintained in XPM, while Xero HQ will be used for managing client organisations and staff access.

Moreover, any edits made on either Xero HQ or XPM — as long as they correspond to the same field — will be visible on the other. Archiving remains smooth as well; if a client is off-boarded from the practice, they will be archived in both lists instantaneously.

For existing users of the XPM or Xero Tax, synchronisation of existing client records might be a complex two-step process; however, Xero assures simplified, personalised instructions to facilitate the transition. Similarly, new users adopting XPM will have their details imported over from Xero HQ immediately.

Xero demonstrates its commitment to transparency and user support by allowing practitioners to verify their SCR status atop the Xero HQ client list. Training resources, guides, and information can be accessed through its learning course, live webinars, and questions portal on Xero Central.

The launch of the single client record will undeniably enhance productivity and eases existing barriers within client record management. The rollout of the SCR is expected to be completed by early next year, with an active encouragement for Xero users to commence the transition process soon.
